The world our children are growing up into is changing faster than any careers guidance can keep up with, and it will look different again by the time they graduate. Which jobs will still exist in ten years, which skills will matter, which routes are worth the investment: questions that are not easily answered. We have started to address these questions directly: through webinars, a Career Day and a network of specialists we trust.

Integrated career guidance

At British boarding schools, career guidance is not something that happens in the final year. It is woven into the school's philosophy: university fairs, regular speakers from business, politics, journalism and the arts, and dedicated staff whose job is to help students think seriously about what comes next. One of our partner schools has three dedicated staff members focussing on career support.

What we do

The subjects a German student chooses in the British system are not administrative detail. They determine which university courses stay open and how smoothly a return to the German system works. We treat this as a core part of the guidance we give, in every application, from the start.

We have also started to take on the bigger questions. Our webinars address what is actually changing in education and work, and in July 2025 we brought one hundred families together for our first Career Day: a full day of conversations with specialists in university applications, gap years and the skills that will matter next.

Die Beratung erfolgt ausschließlich durch seniorige Experten mit langjähriger Erfahrung in der Bildungsberatung. Neben individuellen Interessen und Potenzialen junger Erwachsener wird auch der Beitrag der Eltern als Impulsgeber in den Entscheidungsprozess integriert.

Applying to universities in the UK, the US, Canada or Europe is a different process at every institution. David Hawkins and his team have worked inside international school systems and understand what admissions offices are looking for. They cover everything from subject selection to the personal statement, and are particularly well suited to families with international university ambitions.

StudiMed

For students set on studying medicine, StudiMed opens routes to European universities that sidestep the German numerus clausus. Partner institutions in Hungary, Poland and Italy, practical support with housing and financing, and an active alumni network that tells you what life there actually looks like. A straightforward option for anyone who does not want to spend years waiting.

planZ – Studienberatung

Since 2005, planZ has helped students find their way into the right degree programme at a German university. Aptitude assessment, thorough course research and a realistic individual strategy for securing a place.

Gap Year / Foundation Programmes

Foundation Year

We have been placing students in foundation programmes at British boarding schools and colleges for close to 30 years. For young adults who did not study abroad during school, we offer a carefully chosen range of programmes: from 16-week courses combining language training with subjects like business, law or international relations, to full-year university preparation. We match the programme to your child's level, goals and available time.

Explorientation works with young people who want to use their gap year deliberately rather than just fill it. A structured conversation and a shared mindmap lead to four tailored project proposals, each combining academic, personal and practical elements. Whether that means a company placement, a life skills programme in Africa or focused language training, the aim is a year that builds something that lasts.

wayers arranges international placements for young people: work and travel, volunteering, sustainability projects. The focus is on independence, personal development and genuine intercultural experience. Programmes are individually designed around duration, interests and goals.
